The Best Preacher
Recently, a gentleman told me who the best preacher is as per his experience. He said that he tries to help people at every point in life. For example, doing someone else’s tasks as if they were his own, helping someone financially, giving someone a lift while driving.
On all such occasions people develop a soft spot for him. People thank him deeply. Hearing this thanks, he replies that this favor is a debt. This debt will be repaid only when you do a similar favor to someone else and also thank Allah from the bottom of your heart for sending me to help you. Only then will this debt be paid.
Undoubtedly, this action is a sign of an excellent preacher. It is not possible for a normal person to forget the advice of his benefactor. It is the psychology of man that he remains rebellious and careless in times of ease, but in times of difficulty he comes back to his place. Any advice given on this occasion, especially from a benefactor, becomes part of one’s memory. Time and circumstances may make him forget this, but when he comes across someone suffering or in need, he will be reminded that once a kind person had done him a favor, and instead of compensation, had advised him to pass the favor on. This way, one lamp will light another and the darkness of evil will begin to disappear. This is the wisdom of preaching that is most needed today.
