The Mission of Rehmat e Alam

As I walked through the scorching afternoon sun and across the burning floor of the mosque, stepping into the central hall, I suddenly felt as if the world had changed. The chilled air and the cool environment had created a new realm, one that had absorbed every trace of the heat outside. Just yesterday, this was the same hall where, during the Zuhr prayer, the ceiling fans failed to absorb even the sweat from the worshippers arriving from the blistering heat. But today, the newly installed air-conditioning system had transformed everything. No longer were the worshippers distressed—instead, serene faces bowed in devotion before their Lord.

I recalled how the Imam had made a special supplication during the Friday prayer for those who had installed the AC units. But even then, a thought had crossed my mind—if inventors had not created them, how would the donors have installed them? Why was there no prayer for them? What we do have to offer them is the gift of guidance—the message of salvation brought by the Prophet (PBUH). But to convey that message, one needs a heart like his—free from resentment, filled with love, a heart that is a living prayer, a fountain of generosity.

Ah! But where can I find such a heart among people? If not the heart, then at least the prayer. Throughout the prayer, I kept praying for those who had freed humanity from the torment of extreme weather. I am certain this prayer will be answered. The era of hate-mongers will come to an end, and after the Seal of Prophethood, some followers of love will rise to carry forward the mission of prophethood. They will spread Islam’s message of love and peace to every corner of the world.

The followers of hate are merely fulfilling Satan’s mission—he is the enemy of humanity. But the followers of love are fulfilling the mission of the Prophet (PBUH), who is the Mercy to the Worlds.
