True God-Worshipper
Mr. Maulana Fateh Muhammad was one of the oldest companions of Maulana Maududi who joined the Jamaat-e-Islami founded by Maulana Maududi in 1944. Until his death in 2008, he spent the next 64 years in the service of the mission that he initially believed to be right.
After the death of Maulana Fateh Muhammad, a book containing the impressions of his friends and colleagues regarding his life and personality was published. There is also an article in this book by his granddaughter Ms. Maryam Abdul Hameed. In this article, she writes that Maulana Fateh Muhammad’s first introduction to Maulana Maududi was through a friend. He had given few of Maulana’s books to him and said that these books were given to him by a religious scholar with the advice that the writings are good but the writer is not a good man. However, Maulana Fateh Muhammad read these books with an open heart and taught others as well.
This incident illustrates the difference between a biased religious person and a true Godly person. A true God-worshiping person’s real affiliation is with God. He does not form an opinion on hearsay, but sincerely investigates, understands and then reaches a conclusion. Even if such a person’s conclusion is incorrect, because of this fair process, he is saved from accountability before Allah. A bigoted person, on the other hand, considers false propaganda based on hatred and bigotry to be the ultimate truth. He holds opinions based on slander and accusations as truth and conveys them to others with great confidence. This is the behavior that will be rejected in the grand court of Allah Almighty on the Day of Resurrection and will cause a person to suffer the worst humiliation and disgrace.
